“Amish Crafted” doesn’t have to mean High Price
Compare “Apples to Apples”: Save 15% on the base price of wood gazebos by selecting “Select” grade Premium #1 KDAT Southern Yellow Pine instead of “Clear” grade.
Amish Wood Gazebos – For many, there’s just nothing like natural wood to complement any setting, outdoors or in. Read More about the superior “clear” hand-selected pressure treated lumber we use. Wood does require more care than vinyl, but lasts just as long. Our pressure treated lumber has a limited lifetime guarantee and is impenetrable to termites and fungus. When you see your gazebo up close, you’ll appreciate the fine craftsmanship with the scalloped edges on the posts, the rounded over railings and decking, and finish that is sanded from top to bottom.

Our premium #1 “Clear” hand-selected lumber is perfect and then we mill it to make it even better – Even the deck boards are milled at our plant to be smooth and rounded on the edges, ready for bare feet on day one with no splinters or knots. According to the Southern Pine Inspection Board Glossary, “Clear” is defined as Free or practically free of all blemishes, characteristics, or defects.
Read our Standard Features Guide and you’ll see that there literally isn’t anything else that could be done to build a gazebo any better. It’s no accident. We studied our competitors as well as what people wanted and the only thing we decided not to do was to waste #1 premium clear lumber on floor joists. Just a few noteworthy differences include:
- 3 piece laminated posts to prevent cracking.
- 2” x 4” railings. (everyone else uses 2” x 3”’s)
- 2” x 6” decking (not 5/4”)
- “Clear” lumber, not just #1 Premium so there are no visible knots.
- Stainless steel screws throughout including in the decking.
- Double 2” x 6” floor joists.
- Double 2” x 4” roof rafters or 2” x 6” in larger models. (never single 2” x 4”)
- True vertical fascia. (some competitors reduce labor costs by having fascia perpendicular to roof rafters. )
- Tongue and Groove Ceiling. (not plywood unless you prefer it)
Let us quote you a model that has exactly what you want with no compromises – You might be surprised. You might be able to get that double roof for extra flair or the extra 20 square feet to give you and your friends more room to move around and not break your budget. If you want to keep the price down, you can still do that if you want. We just didn’t want you to think that just because one builder charges $2,000 for a paint job that everyone does.
If you want it stained, let us do it for you for $300 to $1,000 – If you have spray equipment and live in the country, no problem if you want to do it yourself. Gazebos have lots of nooks and crannies and you don’t want to have to paint it yourself with a brush. It takes forever and unless you’re really careful, you might be disappointed with your handiwork. Also, if you have neighbors, you don’t want to end up paying for spraying the side of their house, or worse yet, their car. We make our charges for staining very reasonable because we know you’ll be happier if it’s already done.
Screens and Electric are also very reasonable – We don’t run the electric to your wood gazebo, but we’ll install an outlet, a switch, and wire to your fan/light location for only $150. Our screens packages range from $400 to $1400 on our larger models. You’ll find most competitors are almost double.
What is “Ginger Bread”? – Our Amish mother and office manager Linda calls gazebos with lots of frills “ginger bread”. Turned spindles, Victorian or Fan braces, turned posts, scalloped fascia are all reasonably priced so if you want a “ginger bread” gazebo, it’s affordable, especially on a wood gazebo.
Exotic Woods – We are happy to quote you on redwood, oak, or cedar. With the advances in stain and pressure treated processes, we have been getting fewer and fewer requests.
Benches – are another common item that are priced by the bench, up to 7 on octagonal or oval gazebos. Most of our bench sections are $65 each.
Onsite construction – This option is more viable for homes closer to our plant, within 300 miles. Considering our reasonable onsite charge, it is economical out to this range and even beyond. We charge 25% of the base price on wood gazebos plus $3.00 per mile one way. Having a few Amish gentlemen at your home for a day or two is an experience you’ll enjoy sharing. Make sure you have strong black coffee and some baked goods.
