Gazebo Kits

Enjoy the Experience and Satisfaction of BuildingYour Own Gazebo From a Kit

Building a gazebo kit yourself can be a very rewarding experience, especially if you start with a top quality kit and support.  We provide easy-to-understand instructions so just about anyone can assemble our gazebo kits.  We also have plenty of people on hand to answer your questions if there is something you need help with.

We’ve tried to anticipate some of the questions you might have about building your gazebo kit.  Here are a few things to think about BEFORE you get started to make sure your experience is a positive one:

1.  Time.  Some people might finish more quickly depending on their fitness, experience, pace and other factors but it’s good to allow for do-it-yourselfers to allow a weekend for assembly of a 12 foot octagon gazebo. You’ll also want to allow 1/2 day to a day for site prep depending on the method used.  Keep in mind that 8-sided gazebos take less time than rectangles because the floor and roof panels are already sub-assembled.

2.  Tools.  A 6 or 8 foot ladder is needed along with a cordless drill/screwgun with some #2 square driver bits.  You’ll need a socket set, tape measure, hammer, and razor knife.  A tool belt will come in very handy to hold all the stainless steel screws you’ll be using.

3.  Site.  Every good structure starts with a good foundation.  While municipalities vary in their requirements, our engineers recommend a 4″ to 6″ tamped bed of stone as a minimum.  You may want to pour concrete piers if you expect high winds or if local codes require it.  You can also order your gazebo kit without a floor and attach it to your concrete pad or deck, or your wood deck.  Pavers are very popular, but you’ll want to have piers underneath them to anchor to.  We provide very heavy duty stainless steel brackets and 1/2″ x 6″ lag bolts to connect the posts to the concrete piers.  You’ll need a rotary hammer to drill the hole for the lag bolts.

4.  Hired help.  Many people hire contractors or handy men to do the site prep, or to build the gazebo kit.  You can always play helper to a pro and claim bragging rights.  We won’t tell.

5.  Phone a friend.  You can call as many times as you want.  We’ll do whatever we have to do to help get the job done.
