At the business every day are a father and mother, two sons, a daughter, her husband, a couple of cousins, and about 12 other Amish employees. They have two non-Amish drivers to help get them around. We have another married son in the office, and a daughter that is married. All 6 of our children are Amish and live close by. Our oldest son is the supervisor in the plant and also oversees most of the on-site work.
The builders at Amish Designers have been building gazebos and other structures since 1990. Your structure is made in a modern facility using modern equipment powered by a diesel engine, air compressor, and hydraulic pump. The men in the shop range in age from 14 to 68. Not all, but most Amish boys look forward to getting out of the classroom and getting to work where they can learn their trade.
The design concept is simple – build the best, most beautiful and durable wood and vinyl structures possible. The harder you look and the more you learn, the more our quality is evident. Cheaper, skimpier gazebos, pergolas or pavilions are a few hundred, maybe a thousand dollars cheaper at first, but are not as beautiful, will weather sooner, and will have to be replaced after 5 to 10 years. If they don’t fall down, they’ll turn into eyesores. Our gazebos, pavilions and pergolas will most likely outlast your house. The Amish have only been building gazebos for about 30 years so we don’t know for sure. Pergolas and pavilions more recently than that. We just know how we build them and what we build them with.
The lumber we use as standard has a lifetime warranty and is the best available. We also offer the option of “select” grade. We don’t use ceramic or galvanized screws, only stainless steel. The nails we use in the floor framing underneath are hot dipped galvanized. Even the finish nails we use are stainless steel.
Completing a gazebo, pavilion or pergola project can be confusing but the rewards for handling it yourself can be great. Getting the size right, wood or vinyl, standard features and options, how much does it cost? Oval, Octagon, Rectangle. How to handle site prep. Delivery options.
When it comes to the way we do business, we make everything as clear as possible instead of trying to make it more confusing than it already is. It’s easy to find what we include in our base prices on our website and in our catalog. You don’t have to worry about being tricked by prices on whimpy, skimpy gazebos, or gazebos with no floor. You won’t hear us telling you that a kit is easier to build than it is or that it’s only going to take a weekend.
Thank you for the opportunity to earn your business and build your gazebo, pavilion, pergola, or other structure for you.
